Walking in the dark

We are still walking now, it's dark so it's really exciting. Here's what's happened so far today:

Last night we slept on the bandstand in a park in Henley. We were up late as there were a lot of people about. We met up with some young people who were celebrating the end of Ramadan and one of them gave me a piece of barbecued meat-yum! Later a different group of teenagers were having a party with some music, they were very friendly. After a while, I crashed out. It was warm and comfy on the bandstand and I got a long lie until 7.30am when two funny men set up some equipment and started exercising.

We spent the morning exploring Henley, my helper really liked it there but we had to move on to continue with our walk. After a while, I started to feel really hot so we stopped for a rest near the course where they hold the Henley Royal Regatta. Something special must be about to happen there as there was a lot of hustle and bustle. I had a snooze there for a while then we walked on along the Thames.

A lot of people were out having picnics, I kept running up to them and looking cute in the hope that they would give me some bread. Strangely, people kept asking what kind of dog I am, lots of them had never heard of lurchers. Most of the doggies round here are labradors.

We're heading for Maidenhead now. We're nearly at Bisham Abbey, maybe somebody there will have a spare sandwich!

          Love from,

                          Lamps.
