Approaching Devizes

I am having great fun on my walk.

I arrived in London on Wednesday night and spent the night sleeping on a park bench. The next morning I visited Hyde Park where I found some tasty treats to eat, even a whole chicken leg! It was so hot that I had a swim in a fountain to cool down.

I got the train to Avonmouth. It was a hot day so I had to have lots of drinks of water. From Avonmouth it was a 4-mile walk to the coast at Portishead, and the Coast to Coast walk began!

That night I slept in some bushes a few miles from Bristol. I was very tired from all the walking and my helper had trouble waking me the next morning.

By 8am on Friday we were at the Clifton Suspension Bridge. From there we walked to Bristol and stopped for lunch by the river. We walked on all the way to Bath where we met up with my friend, Steve. That night we camped by the canal but it came on thunder and lightening, so we went back to town and slept in a doorway. That way my fur got to stay dry!

In the morning a kind man from the butchers' stall at the farmers' market gave me a big bag of bones. Everybody was very kind and we collected around £100 for my doggy pals in Battersea. Something scary happened, though when a bad man set his big dog on me on purpose. Some kind people in a jeweller's shop looked after me and phoned the police.

We walked on beside the canal. I had great fun jumping on the narrow boats and exploring them. Last night we slept in a gazebo. I was very tired and climbed inside my helper's sleeping bag. It was cosy in there!

Now we are nearly at a place called Devizes. I hope we can rest there as my paws are getting a bit sore. My helper says he has blisters too.

People have been leaving donations on my Just Giving page and this is helping to keep me motivated. I have now raised £144.92 as well as the £100 that we banked in Bath. Thanks to everybody whose has contributed!

    Love from,

                       Lamps.
